Fishers has grown by leaps and bounds since being settled by William Conner in 1802.
What started as a log cabin on the White River transformed into a quiet town on the north side of Indianapolis. And after remaining under the radar for nearly 200 years, Fishers has experienced exponential change since the turn of the century.
The population has increased by 40,000, as families have relocated to join our community. Businesses have flooded the newly renovated downtown area, which has become a de facto hub for technology and innovation. Numerous publications across the country have included Fishers on their ‘Best Places to Live’ list. And, after long last, Fishers officially became a city in 2015.
No longer a sleepy suburb, the city continues to fashion out a niche as it’s own independent entity. Residents have tons of choices for family fun and entertainment without having to travel. And for young professionals, Fishers provides a wide array of dining and nightlife options without heading to downtown.
Our self-contained universe is home to premier shopping, gyms with great amenities, dozens of parks, golf courses, trails, and more. Raising your family here grants you access to one of the highest-rated school systems in the state with burgeoning athletic, music, and arts programs.
But even with all this progress, Fishers still celebrates their roots. Each summer, tens of thousands of people flock to where it all started at Conner’s farm. Now a living history museum, Conner Prairie hosts a series of spectacular outdoor concerts with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Also, the Fishers Freedom Fest is a great gathering event in the Nickel Plate District for families celebrating the 4th of July.
We’re proud to serve homeowners around Fishers in finding their dream home. Contact us today if you are looking to buy or sell, or have any questions at all!
